Julio Gomez Lopez has a PhD in Computer Science and practically all his teaching, work and research at University are linked to the discipline of Administration of Operative Systems, Communications and Computer Security. On the other hand, he has been 6 years as coordinator of the teaching of distance learning in computer science becoming to the course 2014/15 ascribed to the General Directorate of Vocational Training to organize all the teaching of distance and semi-professional training in Andalusia. This work ended when in the 2015/16 academic year he returned to his center to occupy the position of deputy director he currently holds. He has always had a close relationship with the University, resulting in numerous publications related to operating systems, administration of operating systems, communications and computer security. He has a total of 31 books published which are necessary to emphasize that 12 of them are distributed and commercialized at national level, and another 7 books are distributed and commercialized at international level. During the time of university associate professor of the department of Languages and Computing of the University of Almeria (2004-2012) I have taught several subjects of which I highlight his great vocation, "Administration of Operating Systems". In his university teaching he has always been concerned so that his students have access to a good material so he published several books for both university students and specific books for the Training Cycles. In addition to regulated teaching, he has led, coordinated and taught: more than 30 non-regulated teaching courses; Specialist in Networks and Computer Security (5 editions); Expert in Administration and Security of Information Systems (1 edition); And has directed the Master of the University of Almeria in Administration, Communication and Computer Security (4 editions), has directed 7 End of Career Projects in Computer Engineering, 7 Master's End Projects and 2 PhD Thesis. In order to train as a teacher he has participated in various courses of teacher improvement, projects of educational innovation and has assisted as a speaker to several educational congresses. At research level, he compiles his research on computer security with research on the use of optimization algorithms applied to real problems such as load balancing, network communication, etc. In this line he defended his doctoral thesis titled "Optimization of Network Intrusion Detection Systems using Advanced Computing Techniques", obtaining the maximum qualification. He has participated in numerous projects such as the project of Excellence of Andalusia regional government "Analysis of the quality of electrical energy using smart meters. Optimization and savings in the productive and residential sector of Andalusia" (2011-2014) and the project of the Plan TDTRADER: A methodology for the interoperability of TDT-Web services through the implementation of repositories and measurement models of software component MHP-COTS (2010 - 2013). As a result of the application of his research and teaching he has participated as a principal researcher in numerous contracts with companies and the University of Almeria itself.
